The City of Sierra Madre (City) provides water and wastewater services to customers within its incorporated boundary. The City must collect sufficient revenues from its customers to pay the costs to (1) operate each of its enterprise systems/“utilities” – water and wastewater; (2) repair and replace its infrastructure; and (3) ensure a healthy reserve of funds.

Sierra Madre Police Arrest a Burglary Suspect

On May 14, 2022, at approximately 10:00 A.M., Sierra Madre Police Officers responded to the 300 block of E. Algeria Avenue, regarding a call of two males knocking on the door of a residence and inquiring if the home was an "Air BnB." The caller gave a description of the pair as male blacks driving a black Mercedes with no license plate. The resident felt the activity was suspicious and officers responded to the area but were unable to immediately locate the vehicle or suspects.

On January 27, 2022, the City of Sierra Madre broke ground on the Sierra Madre Solar Array Project and hosted the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Earth Day, April 22, 2022. The Project, located at 611 East Sierra Madre Boulevard, contains a 554.58 kilowatt (kW) solar ground-mounted system and a 111 kW battery energy storage system (BESS).

Water Main Construction to Start on 8/26/19 through 9/20/19. See map of the affected area. If you live in the affected area please arrange to have your vehicles moved before 8am. Access will be closed at 8:00 am and open every evening after 5:00 pm. Overnight parking on Sturtevant Dr. and Mt Trail will be allowed without permit during construction. Streets to receive new water mains include: Brookside from 686 Brookside to Sunnyside lane; Sunnyside Lane from Brookside to Woodland; Woodland from Sunnyside Lane to Alta Vista ; Alta Vista from Woodland to Vista Circle. The City is aware of other areas with deteriorating water mains. Those areas are being designed for near future replacement. If you have any concerns, please contact the Public Works Department @ 355-7135

REMINDER: The gate at the entrance to Chantry Flat Road is closed from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Chantry Flat Road (formally Santa Anita Canyon) accesses one of the most popular hiking and day-use recreation areas on the Angeles National Forest. Motorists that fail to comply with the official posted signs risk becoming locked-in behind the gate and are subject to receiving a traffic citation. To avoid this, please remember to exit the gate by 8 p.m.
