Council Member Lowe

                                                                                                       Council Member Kristine Lowe

Kristine was elected to the Council in November 2022.

Kristine is a life-long Sierra Madre resident with a long commitment to community. As a Sierra Madre Firefighter, she was promoted to the rank of Captain and was the first female Officer for Sierra Madre and the San Gabriel Valley. She is the Coordinator for the Public Safety Academy at Hoover High School, a program that provides college and career readiness in the Public Safety and Service sector.

In 2016, Kristine retired from SMFD and was awarded multiple honors for her service and commitment to our community: Sierra Madre’s Woman of the Year, and the 4th of July Parade’s Hometown Hero. The California District 41 Assemblyperson Chris Holden honored Kristine as a Woman of Distinction this same year. She has been active on different committees such as the Sierra Madre Community Foundation Board and the Friends of the Library Wine Tasting Committee, and currently serves on the Sierra Madre Pioneer Cemetery Board and Sierra 4th of July Parade Committee which oversees July 4th activities, the Kersting Court holiday decorations, and other events.

Kristine’s partner, Dan Bell, is also a lifelong Sierra Madre resident. His grandmother was Mary Perkins who opened Mary’s Market in the Canyon. Dan was honored as our Hometown Hero this last 4th of July parade for all of his years of service and community engagement in our town.

For fun, Kristine loves to travel and experience other cultures, especially food. She is an avid athlete and enjoys scuba diving, skiing, soccer and watching Dodger baseball, USC Trojans and Dallas Cowboys football.
