Gateway Coach
The Gateway Coach is a fixed route public transportation service for the City of Sierra Madre. The route operates Monday through Friday, except Holidays from 11:00am - 1:30pm and is available for all to use at no cost. The route traverses the City of Sierra Madre with stops at Sierra Vista Park, Sierra Madre Middle School, Sierra Madre Library, Post Office, Senior Housing and Memorial Park to name a few. Dial-A-Ride (Demand Response Transportation Service)
Monday through Friday: during the hours of 8:00am - 10:30am & 2:00pm - 5:00pm. No service on Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays. Fares are .50 cents each way. For Dial-A-Ride Reservations please call 626-355-3873.

The Sierra Madre Dial-A-Ride program is a curb-to-curb transportation service for elderly and disabled residents of Sierra Madre. Out-of-town trips can go no more than two miles beyond the City, but may travel to a variety of the medical facilities in Pasadena, Arcadia, or Duarte.

Riders must be residents of Sierra Madre and must be 62 years of age or older, or must have a form, signed by a physician, attesting to a disability which hinders mobility and the use of MTA buses. All patrons of the service must first register with the City's Community Services Department, and present proof of residency and age or disability. 

On Tuesdays, Dial-a-Ride will travel East as far as Duarte's City of Hope, but not in the Westerly direction. On Thursdays, Dial-a-Ride will travel West as far as Pasadena's Huntington Hospital, but not in the Easterly direction. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays Dial-A-Ride will travel in both directions for scheduled appointments.

Medical trips will continue to receive priority only if they are reserved a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the date of service. Existing non-medical trips reserved within 48 hours of the requested time will not be bumped by last-minute medical trip requests. Last-minute medical trips will be accommodated as much as availability allows.

Upon making a reservation please provide the address of the destination, number of persons traveling, whether a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is needed and your telephone number. The dispatcher will advise travelers of the approximate pick-up time. Please allow for a 20 minute window. At pick-up drivers are not required to wait more than 10 minutes.

Passengers requesting a wheelchair accessible vehicle must make their request at least one hour in advance.

Drivers may assist upon request in loading and unloading of senior citizens and disabled riders' packages not exceeding twenty-five (25) pounds.
