It’s official! In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepherd is this year’s choice for the One Book One City 2018 Program sponsored by the Sierra Madre Public Library.  This is a light-hearted,  funny, beloved, bestselling classic collection of short stories

One Book One City is a community reading program that invites everyone in Sierra Madre to read and discuss the same book during the month of February 2018 and to participate in exciting free programs.  Programs planned are:

- Friday, February 2, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Old Time Live Radio Show performed by local actors. The Bridge is Destroyed with Little Orphan Annie sponsored by Ovaltine!
- Friday, February 9, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Lively video of Jean Shepard reading one of his delightful radio plays followed by a group discussion
- Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 am. Adult Craft. Make old-time valentine cards
- Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 1:00 am to 5:00 pm. Game Day. Games popular in the 1930s included Monopoly, Sorry, The Game of Life, Scrabble, Chutes & Ladders, Chess, and Checkers
- Thursday, Feb. 15 at 11:00 am. Third Thursday Book Club
- Wednesday, February, 21 at 7:00 pm. Rich Procter presents The Golden Age of Radio
- Friday, Feb 23 at 6 pm.Teen ComedySportz –Improv workshop for teens
- Wednesday, February 28 at 7:00 pm. Ugly Lamp Contest & movie A Christmas Story
