The Community Services Department offers an array of senior services. Most activities are based out of the Hart Park House, located at 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, CA 91024. Activities at the Hart Park House include: daily lunch program, lunchtime movies, fitness programs, Lunch and Learn, free health screenings, games and special events.
In addition the Senior Community Commission hosts a variety of events throughout the year. A Sierra Madre resident is recognized as the Older Sierra Madre American of the Year each May. The Community Yard Sale is held each June and provides participants an opportunity to buy and sell gently used goods. During the summer, the Commission hosts the Seniors Rock concerts as part of the larger Concert in the Park Series in Memorial Park. Finally in September, an annual Wellness in the Park event is held to provide educational opportunities to seniors and provide new resources.
The City of Sierra Madre is updating its Senior Master Plan, which provides goals, policies, and guidelines for senior services for the next 10 years. The survey will help the Senior Master Plan Committee gain a broad perspective of the views and values in the older adult community. Your opinion and input is greatly appreciated.
