In 1998, the City created a "Youth Activity Center" known as YAC.
YAC provides an opportunity for 11 through 17 year olds to talk to
other young adults about issues affecting their lives, provide
counseling services, homework assistance, and social activities.
Approximately 75 students participate in the YAC on a regular basis.
These students come from Sierra Madre and surrounding communities.
The new Youth Activity Center was completed in June 2005. It is a
3,400 square foot building located on the second story above the
Community Services Center.
