Police Department Volunteers

Police Department volunteers are a welcome addition to the Department. There are currently 16 volunteers; most of whom have completed an in house training program to learn about the Department, radio procedures (including radio codes), and basic traffic control. Many volunteers are qualified Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT) members which means they have completed a training course put on by the Fire Department and the County. In addition, many are ham radio operators.

In the future, volunteers may be trained to handle LiveScan (fingerprinting), Citizen Patrol, various administrative duties as well as assist with emergencies within the City.
