The Sierra Madre Fourth of July Committee is looking for motivated, enthusiastic, creative, and friendly volunteers to serve on the committee as a member or a Co-Chair. The committee seeks volunteers to assist with various tasks to help with the parade and festivities. Join in the fun of hosting Sierra Madre’s favorite hometown tradition!
This past Saturday, May 26th, 2012 celebrated the 104th anniversary and 46th running of the Mount Wilson Trail Race. It was another successful year with great weather, stellar finishing times, and a lively crowd.
The City of Sierra Madre now has LIVE Meeting Coverage!!! Live internet streaming is available at http://sierramadre.kgem.tv on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm for Sierra Madre City Council Meetings. Sierra Madre Planning Commission Meetings are viewable live on the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.
Call for Artists for Art Shows
In an effort to promote the professional development of local artists and their work, the Community Services Commission and Arts Advisory Committee features a rotation calendar of visual art shows at City Hall. Local artists are invited to submit samples of work for review and possible inclusion for future exhibits. Shows run for 6 to 8 weeks with a special reception. The exhibits may be viewed during business hours at Sierra Madre City Hall, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. If you are interested in submitting your work for an art show, please submit samples (copies, not originals) of your work to: Community Services Department, c/o Community Services Commission, Art Advisory Committee, 611 E. Registration for the 2012 Mount Wilson Trail Race will begin on Monday, March 5 at 9:00am. Registration is available online at www.cityofsierramadre.com/onlineregistration.
This is an exciting event and the City's opportunity to recognize and honor the true treasures of Sierra Madre, its volunteers, City Commissioners and employees. Sierra Madre Honors… Recognition and Appreciation Dinner recognizes all out-going City Commissioners as well as extraordinary community members, organizations and employees
Select recreation facilities may be reserved by private organizations or community groups. Any group desiring information can tentatively reserve online at City of Sierra Madre's Community Services Department Online Registration System.
The City of Sierra Madre offers these transportation programs to its residents.
The City of Sierra Madre Community & Personnel Services Department in collaboration with the Pasadena YMCA is assessing the need for afterschool programs. Please help us by filling out our online survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/97FJ59B. Currently, the YMCA operates afterschool programs for youth under 10 and the City operates programs for those 11-17.
The Sierra Madre Oktoberfest Golf and Tennis Tournament was held this past Saturday, October 15, 2011. Between the golf and tennis tournaments and luncheon approximately $4,000 was raised for Sierra Madre Youth Programs.
