Elaine Aguilar was appointed City Manager in August 2007. Ms. Aguilar has more than 28 years of professional experience in local government, and has previously held the positions of Management Analyst, Administrative Services Manager, Assistant to the City Manager and Assistant City Manager. She has served her entire career in Los Angeles County working for the cities of Paramount, La Puente, Glendale and currently, Sierra Madre.
As City Manager, Ms. Aguilar is appointed by the Sierra Madre City Council and serves as the chief administrative officer of the City. She is responsible for the overall efficient and effective administration of City departments. The City Manager is also the Executive director of the Community Redevelopment Agency and Public Financing Authority. She is also responsible for implementing the City Council’s policies and decisions.
