The Sierra Madre Police Department provides a unique community oriented program that affords local youth, service groups and schools the opportunity to tour the police facility – from the temporary holding facility (jail) to the inside of a police vehicle. In addition to the tour, safety topics are discussed, including 911 emergency use and stranger awareness.
In addition to station tours, Sierra Madre residents are provided the opportunity to see their police on patrol. Residents who are 18 years of age or older may request a ride-along with a patrol officer. All ride-along participation is at the discretion of the Chief of Police. Participants must provide a valid picture identification and sign a waiver form. Youth 17 years of age and younger will be required to have a parent or guardian’s signature in order to participate in a ride-along. To request a ride-along and for more information call (626) 355-1414.
