Born and raised in Sierra Madre, John Harabedian was selected as Mayor Pro-Tem on April 23, 2013. He was elected to a four-year seat on the City Council on in 2012. Mayor Pro-Tem Harabedian attended Sierra Madre Elementary School and St. Rita Elementary School before graduating from Loyola High School, Yale University (B.A.), Oxford University (M.Sc.), and Stanford Law School (J.D.). Mr. Harabedian is an attorney with the international law firm Latham & Watkins LLP, practicing out of its Los Angeles office. He previously served as a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs.
Mayor Pro-Tem Harabedian serves as the City Council's liaison to the Library Board of Trustees, the Sierra Madre Police Department, and the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, as well as the alternate to the Planning Commission.
