Drought Conditions Continue to Threaten Water Supply

The City would like to remind its residents that the drought continues to affect Sierra Madre’s water supply. The State has set a goal for the City to reduce water use by 32% over 2012-2013 water consumption. While meeting that goal is critical, it remains one of the City’s highest priorities to return to the use of its high quality local water. Until those goals are reached, it is important that everyone in the community do their part to reduce water consumption. Many of the City's water customers have taken this message to heart and have done a great job of conserving. To encourage further conservation, the City started assessing penalties to those not meeting conservation goals and issuing citations for illegal irrigation practices.
